Capital One Set to Open New Airport Lounge in Charlotte
by Krish Patel
A new airport lounge is coming to a major hub in the Charlotte area. Capital One recently announced that a brand new Capital One Lounge is set to debut at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), which will measure at 14,000 square feet and mark the issuer’s eighth outpost.
There’s currently no confirmed opening date from Capital One for this outpost yet. However, Capital One has expressed that the lounge will offer locally inspired food options, including a coffee bar and chef-curated menu. Additionally, the issuer chose a location for the lounge on the mezzanine level that will overlook the tarmac.
Capital One’s Lounge in Charlotte isn’t the only new outpost that has been planned for the airport. Last year, American Airlines announced plans to introduce a Flagship Lounge at its major CLT hub and expand the Admirals Club.
There are several ways to access Capital One Lounges, with the primary method being through the personal or business version of the Capital One Venture X credit card ($395 annual fee). Starting February 1, 2026, cardholders of the Venture X will not be able to bring two complimentary guests with them into the lounge. Instead, cardholders will be able to pay $45 per adult guest and $25 for each guest under 17 years of age. Additionally, folks who don’t have a Capital One card can purchase a day pass of $90 per person to enter the lounge.
As American’s second largest hub, Charlotte Airport’s lounge network is expanding thanks to the introduction of a Capital One Lounge. Travelers passing through the busy hub will have an extra lounge option in the not-too-distant future.
