A Luxurious Stay: Reviewing the Four Seasons in Prague
by Krish Patel
Situated in the heart of the Old Town along the banks of the Vltava River is one of Prague’s most luxurious hotels. The Four Seasons Prague blends renowned service with the charm of its historic surroundings in the Old Town, delivering fine attention to detail. Best of all, it provides excellent access to public transport and offers a signature view of the Prague Castle.
Four Seasons Prague Location and Convenience
The Four Seasons Prague is located in the city’s Old Town and walking distance from the Old Town Square with the famous astronomical clock and Church of Our Lady before Týn. It’s also near the Vltava River and Charles Bridge, which connects you to the Castle Town and Lesser Town. Speaking of the castle, the property offers stunning postcard-worthy views of Prague Castle, especially during the day. While the hotel offers serene views of numerous tourist attractions, it’s certainly worth venturing out into the city to properly visit them.
Four Seasons Prague Lobby, Vibe, and Amenities
Stepping foot into the lobby, I happened to notice the bright understated finishes and the welcoming holiday decorum, which consisted of at least three or four Christmas trees. There are several beautiful canvases throughout the lobby as well, which help add a nice flair to the hotel’s environment. Also found in the lobby are several cozy chairs meant for lounging. The space feels more like an ornate living room rather than the interior of a hotel.
Four Seasons Prague features a modern, functional gym. It’s well stocked with a variety of gym equipment and never felt crowded in the morning or afternoon hours. There are several weights, cardio machines, and mats you can use during your workout. There’s also a mini fridge containing spring water and a bathroom that includes changing rooms and lockers.
Found on the second floor is an elevator that takes you down directly to the AVA Spa. It’s a relaxing space complete with several treatment rooms, a pool, and a sauna. The treatments offered consist of four types: facial, body, massage, and signature.
A small relaxation room is nestled into the corner of the spa facility, featuring soft furniture and complimentary snacks and drinks, including warm lemon & ginger tea.
The vitality pool felt cozy, with an environment blending luxury with modern sophistication. The arched slender alcoves house poolside beds meant for lounging. If you want to relax inside the pool, you’ll find a wide hydrotherapy bed made of stainless steel. Unfortunately, there aren’t any hot tubs, though guests can still relax inside the sauna or steam room after the pool.
The Room at Four Seasons Prague
Four Seasons Prague offers 157 guest rooms, including 19 suites. The rooms reflect a variety of styles, striking a balance between traditional and contemporary design. Each hotel room overlooks views of the city or Prague Castle, which can be found across the Vltava River.
For my stay, I was booked into a Superior Room offering city views. It’s a nice size and features a spacious closet and bathroom. The former includes a complimentary pair of slippers and a bathrobe.
The bathroom in my Superior Room consisted of glazed marble tiling and a granite sink countertop. I found the bathroom to be plenty spacious. Amenities included a large bathtub, shower, and selection of hand creams and soaps from luxury brand Diptyque.
The actual bedroom felt luxurious too. I enjoyed the comfort of the Four Seasons mattress, which can actually be customized to your liking, whether you prefer more hard or soft cushioning. I also couldn’t help but notice that the pillows were wearing the signature Four Seasons tree logo.
Several amenities such as a large TV, lounging chair, desk, and mini bar are included as well. The mini bar houses several light snacks and drinks you can help yourself to whenever you want. It also features a coffee machine and various bags of tea. For one guest or even two people sharing a room, the Superior Room is large enough without having the extra space in a Four Seasons suite.
Four Seasons Prague Dining
When it comes to a hotel’s dining options, quality matters far more than quantity. CottoCrudo Restaurant & Bar is the only on-site dining establishment at Four Seasons Prague, but offers an extensive cocktail list and dinner menu. For dinner, it serves Italian cuisine and has several fresh pastas and risottos on the menu. The bar is also open for drinks and dessert throughout the evening hours.
At breakfast, I would graze along the buffet of fresh pastries, yogurts, fruits, and cheeses before scanning through CottoCrudo’s á la carte menu. Guests can order several dishes in the morning such as spicy shakshouka with poached eggs and fresh bread heaped with avocado smash. The drinks served such as coffee and iced lattes are also impressive and can be customized to your liking.
Four Seasons Prague Booking Details
Four Seasons is one of Prague’s most expensive luxury hotels. For example, per-nightly rates for the entry-level Superior Rooms start at $650. They can rise above $1,500 if you’re considering staying in one of the suites.
To maximize your hotel purchase, it’s best to book via the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts Travel Portal using an eligible credit card such as The Platinum Card from American Express ($895 annual fee). When you book through Amex, you can take advantage of several perks such as early check-in, late check out, complimentary breakfast for two, and a $100 on-property credit. The property credit can be used for several experiences such as booking a spa treatment or dinner at CottoCrudo.
Overall Thoughts
Four Seasons Prague is well-located, offering fantastic service and easy access to several attractions. Its rooms feel classy and well-appointed, just like the rest of the facilities accessible to hotel guests. Throughout my stay, the service was phenomenal. The staff were welcoming and consistently checked on me whenever I returned from exploring the city. If you’re looking for a hotel offering fantastic amenities but is also centrally located, then the Four Seasons Prague is a great choice.
